Paid time off

Description

Because You Deserve Some “You” Time

Vacation

Crew employees begin accruing vacation time off after one year of uninterpreted service. Your rate of accrual is 0.0194 hours of vacation per hour worked for the first forty hours worked per week. No additional vacation time is accrued if you exceed 40 hours worked within a week. Your maximum accrual is 40 hours of vacation time per calendar year.

Sick Time

Crew employees generally receive 24 hours of Sick Time at the beginning of every year. Some locations have mandated sick leave laws that are different than Chipotle’s standard policy. If you work in a location with mandated sick leave laws, you will accrue and may use Sick Time based on those laws.

What Happens to My Unused Vacation & Sick Time If I Leave Chipotle?

Unused vacation time is not paid out upon termination of employment unless required by state regulations. Unused sick time is never paid out upon termination.

How Much Vacation and/or Sick Time Can I Use in One Day or Week?

Vacation and Sick policies allow for time-off requests of up to 8 hours in a day* and 40 hours in a week when combined with worked time. Time-off requests that are outside of policy will be adjusted accordingly.

*Vacation and Floating Holiday are capped at 8 hours a day, and sick time is capped at 8 hours a day unless mandated by your state.
**Apprentices and CA Managers are capped at 50 hours in a week when worked time is combined with PTO.

Does my Vacation and/or Sick time carry over to the following year?

Unused Vacation time does not carryover to the following year unless you live in California, Colorado, Montana or Nebraska. Unused Sick time only carries over if required by state or local regulations.
